I'm so glad to get this off the needles. It is a super quick knit, but as I hinted before, I have been SOO incredibly busy so it took me a couple months. It was a WONDERFUL first sweater to knit; JeJune's instructions were so clear and she was so very helpful in any questions that those of us in the knitalong had.

I am going to send it in to get dry cleaned tomorrow, and then I am going to permanently put the buttons on (right now, I have them on just for the picture!). I am also trying to decide how to do an edging around the neck. I can NOT crochet (wish I could) so, I want something that will look nice and not sloppy. I guess I will have to research that (if you have any ideas, suggestions are appreciated!).

I shortened the button band (and it looks like one side is longer than the other in this picture... that is not so, a good blocking will fix that) and took out the seed stitching in the neck shaping. I also made the button band 2x2 ribbing VS 1x1 and made it 12 versus 11 stitches. (Very minor changes!)

I had JUST enough yarn. Seriously. I have about 10 yards left, which I will use for the edging around the neck.

I will post some pretty pictures once I get her back from the dry cleaners and the buttons on!

moving on...

Sorry for the short break... I got sidetracked with boards, but I can happily say that I am now officially an RN! I start work in a couple weeks, but am looking forward to enjoying this "VACATION."

I am DONE with Maude Louise, I only have the button band to complete which should be done today or tomorrow.

I am also going to start a Saturday Market Bag soon...

I have a friend going away to college to Providence Univ in R.I, and she is very eclectic. I want to knit her (and myself) one of these, as well as knit her quite a few warm-weather things.

Another project coming up is the Shiavaree throw from Berroco. http://www.berroco.com/exclusives/shivaree_throw/shivaree_throw_lg.html

I am just waiting for the yarn on that one. I ordered 2 full bags of plymouth encore (i love it) in a gray color. This blanket will be for the BF who is going "away" (not too far away though, he is staying here in charlotte, but will be about 30 minutes from his home) to college. I will have to keep him off this blog while I'm knitting this, otherwise the surprise will be ruined!

I will post pictures of maude louise shortly and work on staying on top of this blog~

Charlote, NC

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_CbaD3eNItYw/RnK5zTGAIgI/AAAAAAAAAAM/_qW41v0MOHE/s320/charlotte.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5076324020949885442" />

I am proud to live in the wonderful state of North Carolina. If you could visit any state in the US, which would it be and why?
California. I went there a few years ago and it was WONDERFUL. I loved everything about it. The beach, the cliffs, San fran etc. It was such a beautiful state.

2. If you could visit any country in the world, other than your own, which would it be and why?
I think it would be Ireland. Everything there seems so rustic and beautiful. I love old castles and churches, etc. and all things Celtic.

3. Have you ever driven across several states/providence/countries?
When I was much younger (6 or 7), we took a trip from Charlotte, NC up to Canada (Niagra Falls), stopping to visit people in all the states along the way.

4. Have you ever visited someplace you consider exotic? Where was it?
Hmmm... the most exotic would be Florida (where I'm originally from)... so not really, but I wish! Maybe for my honeymoon...

5. What was your favorite "travel" vacation? Why?
My favorite travel vacation was to Savannah, Georgia for my graduation trip this past Spring Break. I LOVE Savannah and all of the history behind such a beautiful city. I also LOVE their pralines there on the riverfront... I love the history tours, and the historic downtown homes, and also REALLY enjoyed the "ghost/legends" tour. We got to stay in this great rowhouse in the downtown area and could walk to whereever we wanted. Overall it was just a great trip!

6. Have you ever played tourist in your own home city/state (if international, country)? Explain.
In my home state I have (not really in my city other than visiting old cemetaries/nearby hiking). I LOVE (I mean absolutely-freakin' adore) the mountains here in NC. I would love to live there someday and get a cabin built on a bit of land. I drive up to the mountains with the BF several times a year to do different things (and see different cities).
I love N.C. it's a great state!

7. Are you a museum visitor, beach comer or an amusement seeker?
Beach comer/mountain go-er.

8. What's your favorite type of yarn?
I love Malabrigo... it's so soft and sproigy! I love most things cotton as well. I am open to any and all new kinds of yarn! Soft and squishy is best... I like neutral/earthy colors such as off-white,

9. What's your least favorite type of yarn?
Wool that is really scratchy. And stuff that isn't easily washed (although if it's something great, I have no issues). I also hate TINY gauged yarns... I don't like to knit with "0" needles, or really anything near that.

10. What items do you like to knit/crochet?
I am currently knitting a cardigan... I like to make scarves because they are relatively quick and I don't have to think too much while making them, Arm warmers, Dishcloths/Washcloths, I'd like to make a few purses for gifts

11. What do you pack, knit/crochet wise when you go on vacation?
A project that I'm working on that doesn't require a ton of thought, scissors, row counter and needle. (And that I can do just a row or two on at a time and not get lost!)

12. What other crafts do you do/would like to do other than Knit/Crochet?
I embroider and scrapbook.
I don't crochet but I wish I could learn! I want to learn to make glass beads.

13. Are you allergic to anything? (Yarn wise or treat wise)
not that I am aware of!

14. What is your favorite color? Least Favorite?
I love turquoise blue (and most other blue shades) and don't like? Yellow, green and orange.
For my yarn I like neutral/earthy colors such as off-white, sky blue, white, almond-y, brown, etc.

15. Sweet or Savory (Treat not personality)?
Both, and together ;) I love anything tasty.

16. Anything else we are forgetting to ask that you think your partner desperately needs to know?
I don't believe so... I will edit this if I change my mind.

What I am working on

I am working on Maude Louise by Knitting Kninja...
It's an EXTREMELY quick knit (despite the fact that I've been working on it for two months...
